What is a Pedestal System?
A Pedestal System is used to help in creating usable space on roof top decks, wood decks, promenades, mechanical walkways, and other areas also.
It elevates the paved surface, ensures paver stones are spaced uniformly and avoids damage to waterproofing substrates in installations such as roof decks, terraces, balconies, patios, podiums, plazas, arenas and roof gardens. A complete pedestal system for a floating deck typically uses both fixed height deck supports and adjustable height pedestals.
Unlike some simple systems which use pre-cut sections of PVC pipe, screw jack style pedestals can be adjusted up or down even after a paver has been laid, ensuring quick and easy installation of raised unit paving. Minor height adjustments can be made with just a simple twist of the pedestal head. Special slope correctors ensure the head of the pedestal is maintained perfectly parallel with the paver surface, preventing any mismatch in paver heights and minimizing potential tripping hazards. The wide circular base on screw jack pedestals ensures that load is spread evenly over the surface below, so they can be used over waterproof membranes on rooftop decks without the worry of damage to the membrane.
Adjustable deck pedestals are ideal for constructing decks over pipes, cables or service ducts and for building perfectly horizontal rooftop decks.
